Northern Ireland’s leading house builder, The Braidwater Group, has this week moved ahead with a virtual consultation for amendments to a proposed residential development, Black Ridge (also known as Glenmona).
In March 2021, approval was granted by Belfast City Council for a mixed-use development on the 75-acre site in the west of Belfast, comprising of 653 residential dwellings (549 social housing units and 104 affordable housing units), 2 replacement residential care homes; a mixed-use area including local neighbourhood retail centre, as well as an employment zone.
BW Social Affordable Housing, part of the Braidwater Group, is this week holding the virtual consultation for amendments:
Proposed development of 7 no. business / light industrial units and 36 no. apartments within the wider development; and
Amendments to planning application (LA04/2020/0804/F) with respect to a section of Zone E which was previously approved – Office Units & Light Industrial Units – to be replaced by CAT1 Apartments (Active Elderly) and Light Industrial Units.
Ryan Boyle, Chief Operating Officer at the Braidwater Group said,
‘We continue to make progress on the build programme at Black Ridge and we are delighted with the construction onsite to date. These new and amended planning applications will make a significant £5.5million investment in the area, as well the provision of 36 new over 55 homes in an area recognised for its high housing need.
We encourage the local community to visit our virtual consultation website to view these proposals and to provide feedback.’’
