The Braidwater Group has marked a significant milestone in the delivery of The Cashel with the reopening of the Coshquin and Whitehouse Roads, completing a key piece of infrastructure first set out in the company’s vision for the project six years ago.

The realignment of the Coshquin and Whitehouse Roads was required to facilitate the new local distributor road network as part of ongoing infrastructure works at The Cashel, Braidwater Group’s landmark development in Derry~Londonderry.
The company has committed to substantial investment in local infrastructure, including improvements to the road network. The completion of these works will enhance connectivity for residents and support the continued growth of The Cashel community.
Located on lands between the Buncrana Road and Coshquin Road, The Cashel is one of the most ambitious housing-led developments in Europe. The development will deliver almost 2,500 new homes across a mix of private, affordable and social housing, alongside extensive green spaces, community facilities, retail provision and a new high street, creating a sustainable and well-connected urban neighbourhood.
Ryan Boyle, Managing Director at Braidwater Group, said:
“The reopening of the Coshquin and Whitehouse Roads marks an important milestone not only for The Cashel but for the wider community, delivering on our commitment to invest significantly in local infrastructure and connectivity. As with all major developments, infrastructure is a vital first step, and the new local distributor road network provides the foundation for the homes, amenities and community facilities that will be delivered in the years ahead. We are pleased to have reached this stage of the project and thank local residents, businesses and road users for their patience and cooperation throughout the works.”
As development continues, the Braidwater Group remains committed to working closely with local stakeholders to ensure The Cashel delivers long-term economic, social and community benefits for the North West.
