The Braidwater Group, a renowned homebuilder with over 50 years of experience, has announced charitable donations to three local organisations as construction work commences at The Cashel in Derry~Londonderry.
Pictured receiving the Braidwater Group donations on behalf of their community organisations are (L-r): Bob McLaughlin of Sean Dolans GAA, Criona O’Hara of the Braidwater Group, Troy Gray of Reach Across, Liam Doherty of the Braidwater Group and from Leafair Community Association: Clare McLaughlin and Lewis McClenaghan.
Donations have been made to Sean Dolans GAC, a Gaelic football club and youth development group in Creggan; REACH Across, a cross-community youth organisation based in the city centre; and Leafair Community Organisation, a people-led charitable body supporting the local area.
The Cashel will deliver almost 2,500 new homes on land between Buncrana Road and Coshquin Road, helping to address housing need in the city while also strengthening ties with the local community from day one.
Construction at The Cashel gathered pace this summer following Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins’ announcement of an £11million investment in wastewater facilities, unlocking progress on this landmark development.
Darren Farnan, Marketing Manager of The Braidwater Group, said: “As a company with deep roots in this city, we’re committed to giving back to the communities we work alongside. The response from local groups was fantastic, and we’re proud to play our part by supporting initiatives that promote sport, youth development and neighbourhood wellbeing. Each plays a vital role in the lives of local people, and we know these donations will help them continue that important work.”
When all phases are complete, the Cashel project will be made up of a mixture of private, affordable and social homes, along with communal facilities, a network of green spaces, shops and essential local services. A busy high street and central park will bring the development together, creating a well-connected and convenient place to live.
It will also be delivered with a strong focus on sustainability, meaning all efforts to reduce emissions associated with the development are being considered. Further efforts include vast tree planting activity and associated biodiversity projects throughout the lifetime of the project.
The Cashel represents a significant milestone for The Braidwater Group and a remarkable opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of the region. With a legacy of successful project execution, the company looks forward to creating a thriving, modern urban community that enriches the lives of its residents.
