Abbeyville Place in Newtownabbey, which was developed by house builder BW Social Affordable Housing for Connswater Homes, has been officially handed over to the housing association.
The new development in Newtownabbey consists of 35 homes comprising of detached and semi-detached homes and apartments. Designed to extremely high energy efficiency and sustainability standards, the project was completed one month ahead of schedule in April 2019.
Built on a derelict site, the project has been instrumental in helping to regenerate the area and in July 2019 it was shortlisted for the Social Housing Award in the 2019 CEF/Specify Construction Excellence Awards.
Darren Farnan, marketing manager of BW, said:
‘’The team at BW Social Affordable Housing recently handed over 35 new houses to Connswater Homes and we are delighted to confirm the development was finished ahead of schedule and within budget. For the second year in a row, a BW development has been shortlisted for the Social Housing Award as part of the CEF Awards. This is recognition for the effort from the team on the ground, the sub contractors and all in the office for their approach to maintaining high standards. We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the team at Connswater Homes for their professional and co-operative approach to all aspects of the construction.’’
